Thelma Bricklin

On January 14, 2019 our beloved mother, Thelma Bricklin (nee Neff), born Jan 1, 1924, age 95, passed peacefully in her Cherry Hill, New Jersey home surrounded by her loving family, after injuries from an accidental fall that proved too difficult to allow complete recovery.  Thelma was the eldest daughter of Abe & Miriam Neff of West Philadelphia and was married to Mort Bricklin who predeceased her in 1995. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and understanding, along with a strength that allowed her to work full time until she was 82 years young.

Thelma leaves behind a large family who will always keep her alive in their memories. Children: Joan Barton, Lois Bricklin-Walsh (Jim Walsh), Andrea McDonald, Donna Fernandez, Nancy Quattrone (Tony Quattrone); Grandchildren: Miriam Barton, Eve Barton-Bek (David Bek), Daniel Quattrone, Pamela Fernandez, Michael  Quattrone, Chris Quattrone; Great-grandchildren: Nicholas Barton, Matthew Bek, Collin Bek, Olivia Bek, Scarlett Quattrone, and Noah Quattrone.  Thelma will be greatly missed by her only living sister, Claire Neff of New York City.

Thelma was predeceased by her beloved sisters, Sylvia Ford, mother of Louis Ford, Phil Ford, and the late Joey Ford, and Joy Ellis, mother of Betsy Cohen, Bob Ellis, Jon Ellis, and Mindy Ellis.

Thelma was timeless in so many ways.  She was a 'wordsmith' who could look at the crypto quote in the paper and have it solved in under five minutes.  All the family enjoyed playing word games with Thelma, who was invariably the winner. There are countless ways Thelma will be missed and countless ways in which she was loved by family and friends alike.  Hers was an example of a life well lived by a strong brilliant woman whose light will always shine in our hearts. Our role model:  Thelma Bricklin.
