Michael David Young Jr.
February 27, 1991 – November 11, 2022
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael David Young, Jr. of Vineland, NJ, who spread his wings on November 11, 2022, with his mother by his side, after suffering a brain aneurysm. He was only 31 years old. Our family is devastated and shocked by this loss.
Born on February 27, 1991, Michael grew up in Swedesboro and Mullica Hill where he attended Kingsway Regional High School. After graduating from high school, Michael worked in different odd jobs, enjoying the variety of life and learning new trades. Of all his talents, his passion was in woodworking and was dedicated to starting his own business someday. He would do anything for his friends who affectionately referred to him as "Munchie Mike" and who will remember him for his sense of humor. No matter the circumstance, you'd always leave with a story of something funny/crazy Mike did while you were with him. Michael may have had some struggles but was a kind soul who loved fiercely. Our family is grateful to know that Michael is finally at peace.
Michael was the proud father of Michael Scott, who was his greatest joy in life. Nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time and making memories with his son, nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his mother, Christine (Lou) Durand-Galiffa of Broomall, PA, his father, Michael Young Sr. of Millville, NJ along with grandparents Kathryn Durand of Vineland, NJ, and David & Francesca Young of Tomball, TX. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Patrick Young of Vineland, Brianna (Elisha) Windfelder-Murphy of Mantua, NJ, Bethany Windfelder of West Deptford, NJ, Angela Young and Jeremy Young of Millville, NJ. Michael was extremely fond of all his nieces and nephews Arianna & Aiden Windfelder, Ella Traverso, and Finnleigh & Wyatt Young.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Associated National Cremation Service, 301 Highland Ave. Westville N.J. 08093. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am, service at 11:00.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Trauma surgeons and Neuro-ICU team at Cooper Hospital as well as the coordinators with the NJ Sharing Network for the compassionate care and comfort they provided to Michael throughout his last days, and to his family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to NJ Sharing Network, an organization which brings the gift of life through organ and tissue donations. https://www.sharingnetworkfoundation.org/contribute
