Michael David Moore
November 1, 1947 – February 11, 2023
Michael David Moore, of Elwood, NJ, peacefully and quietly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Michael was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Mary E. (née Walker) & Lloyd W. Moore on November 1, 1947. He was the second of three children born into this union.
After attending Bloomfield College, Michael served as an Investigator with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office where he met and fell in love with his wife Deborah. Michael would go on to retire from the United States Postal Service, Brigantine, NJ, after 42 years.
Michael was a Christian who loved the Lord and found wisdom and guidance by reading his Bible daily. He was a kind man, who always had a smile at the ready. Michael inherited the greenest of "Green Thumbs" from his mother Mary and looked forward to planting new flowers and plants in his garden each Spring. When it was too hot to be outside in his garden, Michael could be found listening to his jazz collection, watching baseball games in the summer months, and football in the fall. As a longtime Washington fan, he was well acquainted with disappointment.
Michael is preceded in death by his loving parents, Mary and Lloyd. He leaves to mourn his passing: the love of his life, wife Deborah E. Moore (née Reid);stepdaughter Linda D. Bryant, daughter Eillene T. Moore (long-time companion Kevin Harvard); grandson Linden R. Bryant; brother Steven L. Moore, sister Kathy E. Gallagher; sisters-in-law Delores Jones (Michael), Davine Reid; brothers-in-law Gregory Reid (Vernell), David Reid; nephews Stacey L. Gallagher, Steven M. Gallagher (Shalini); nephews-in-law Jack Reid (Cindy), Jonathan Bordley, LuQuaySmith, Gregory Reid, Jr., Henry McIntire, Alphonso Reid; nieces-in-law Sarah Bordley, Robyn Miller, Dory Reid, Anita Scott, Evette Scott; and cherished grand-dog Cali; and a host of other family members and cherished friends.
The family would like to thank all of Michael's hospice staff at Angelic Hospice who took great care of him, as well as our sincere gratitude to all who have been a blessing to Michael and the family during this time.
