Obituary

Marlene Ann Harmon

January 18, 1951 – April 13, 2026

Marlene Ann Harmon, 75, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026. She passed away peacefully, at home with loved ones by her side.

Marlene was born January 18, 1951, in Philadelphia where she spent her formative years until coming to Atlantic City in her early 20's to work and to raise her children.

Marlene was a strong, independent woman. Her congenial and charismatic personality made her great with people. She worked on the boardwalk for many years where she enjoyed overindulging her young sons and their friends during their frequent visits to see her.

She would eventually move on to the casinos, working for over 20 years in Bally's Casino and would later retire from Tony's Baltimore Grill. With her quick wit and effortless ability to make people laugh, she made lifelong friends at every job she had. She loved everything Lucille Ball.

Grandmom Broom was a loving nickname that was given to her by her grandchildren because of her love of Halloween. She was a loyal and loving person who will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Marlene is predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth McBerearty and Nicolas M Centrella, Sr.; her siblings; Bernie, Mickey, Mary, and Sharon.

Marlene is survived by her sisters, Bettyanne Fantom, Vera & (spouse) Rich Margadonna, and her brother, Guy & (spouse) Debbie Centrella and by her children, Alex & Jason Carfagno; and by her grandchildren, Jason, Mya, Nina, A.J. and Tyler.

Services will be held privately with the family. A celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks.
