Margaret Louise Benkovich (née Guerriero)
March 15, 1943 – September 30, 2026
Margaret Louise Benkovich (née Guerriero), 83, of Hammonton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2026 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born in Summit, New Jersey, and grew up in Garwood, where she made many cherished memories. She dedicated many years of her life working for Storr Tractor, K&B Welding, the Cerebral Palsy League, and caring for her grandchildren.
Margaret was an avid bowler, and on Thursday nights you could find her at Garwood Lanes, throwing strikes alongside her beloved mother, Edith. She could also be found at the drag races in the pits, laughing, gossiping and cooking with her race friends. Her love of family, her crazy sense of humor, sarcasm and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Edith and James Guerriero, brother, John Guerriero (Carol), niece, Lynne Lesniewski.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Thomas Benkovich Jr., her daughters Karen Stalba (Tom) and Barbara Silva (Vinnie); and her four cherished grandchildren, Carter Sosnowski, Paul Stalba, Emily Stalba, and Edie Silva.
She is also survived by her siblings, Maryanne Dill (late husband Bob), James Guerriero (June), Virginia Hansen (George), and Robert Guerriero (Patricia), as well as 21 nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable people at Holisticare Hospice and AtlantiCare Hospital whose kindness, compassion, and care provided comfort to Margaret and her family during her final days.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for some time after the New Year for family and friends to gather. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Center for Hope Hospice Donate - Center for Hope Hospice & Palliative Care
Margaret's memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, daughters, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
