Obituary

Joshua James Sweeney

February 18, 1986 - October 14, 2022

Sweeney, Joshua James, 36 of Winslow Twp., went home to be with his savior Jesus Christ on October 14, 2022.

Joshua was welcomed into the world by his loving and joyous parents, Charles and Janis, on February 18, 1986, in Stratford, NJ.
Josh held a lifelong love of Christmas. His hobbies included: skateboarding and riding BMX, as well as maintaining impressive collections of hats and shoes. He enjoyed time outdoors especially if that time involved riding ATVs, which he was exceptionally skilled at. The man could not be denied ice cream and had been known to polish off a full gallon at one time! His mom's pumpkin pie, fruity pebbles, and Reese's peanut butter cups topped the list of his favorite foods. All of this would regularly be washed down with ice cold whole milk or "red" Hawaiian punch.
Josh was gifted with a kind and loving heart. He possessed a willingness to help others that is seldom seen in our world. As a friend, he was loyal to a fault. If Josh called you his brother, that was a bond not easily broken. He was also a ladies man and could never be found wanting for company. For his family, Josh was a fierce defender and was proud of the name he represented. But, despite his sometimes-tough demeanor, he had a remarkable sense of humor and was legitimately a kid at heart.
Josh was father to three children Connor (13), Dahlia (7), Harper (4)) whom he loved with every fiber of his being. He considered them to be his greatest blessing and would undoubtedly move heaven and earth for them.
Joshua is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Charles and Lois Sweeney, Uncle John Sweeney, his maternal grandfather Reuben Reeves, Uncle John Reeves, cousin Jason Reeves, and His niece Francesca Sweeney. Joshua is survived by his parents Charles and Janis Sweeney, brother Charles Sweeney (Grace), sister Lauren Skinner (JT). He is survived by his children Connor, Dahlia and Harper and 10 nieces and nephews.
Josh leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of all who love him yet renews our faith that one day we will be reunited through salvation.
