Obituary

John M. Spinola, Jr.

John M. Spinola, Jr., 92, of Paulsboro passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2019, with family by his side. John was born and raised in Pleasantville and lived in Galloway prior to relocating to Citra, Florida, in 1977. After the passing of his wife in 2008, he moved back to New Jersey to live with his son and daughter-in-law.

A mechanic by trade, John was also a devout Christian and decorated veteran of World War II. "Grandpop" was a humble man who loved nothing more than spending time fishing or quietly toiling in his garden. He also remained very active, riding a mountain bike well into his late 80s.
He loved to treasure hunt at Cowtown and walked his beloved canine companion, Gigi, every  morning until her passing in 2017. John was a man of unwavering faith, loved his family tremendously, and was always willing to step in and help a friend in need. His was a life well lived.

John is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Frances, and his sisters Eva, Marie, and Emma. He is survived by his son John (Jacqueline) M. Spinola, III, of Paulsboro, NJ, and daughter April (Jim) Spolarich of Morristown, TN. Also surviving are six grandchildren: William (Nikki) Hawkins of Morristown, TN, Theresa (Kate) Spinola of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Crystal (Caleb) James of Silver Spring, MD, Jessica "Jessey" (Tim) Murray of Spring Hill, FL, Chris Pinizatto of Paulsboro, NJ, and Shannon Dooner at home; and eight great-grandchildren, William, Haleigh, Nicholas, Jayce, Emily, Aubrie, Timmy, and Elana. And finally, John leaves behind several nieces, nephews, church friends, and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by us all.

Cremation and inurnment will be private. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be
