Elayne's most favorite hobby was crocheting, whether beautiful dainty baby blankets to big gorgeous afghans for her children, her famous dishcloths that everyone loved, whatever it was you can be sure each masterpiece will be forever treasured. She also enjoyed many other types of crafting, painting and trying new Pinterest ideas. She loved spending time with her family, hosting many Holidays, includingeveryone's favorite, Christmas Eve open house, where everyone was welcome. One of Elayne's other favorite interests, was her passion for US politics, she faithfully watched, keeping us all informed of what was going on in the world around us.
There are not many topics Elayne would shy away from. She was always willing to talk openly about anything and everything. She would offer her genuine, heartfelt advice when asked, wisdom when needed, opinions, thoughts, and candid questions were a part of every conversation. Elayne was always able to find a solution to any problem. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, wife, and friend. All those that met Elayne would agree that she was a very special lady and she will be missed by many. Elayne will remain in our hearts and gardens forever.
Mom, you always gave so much to each of us, never asking for anything in return. Thank you for always being there for us, for listening to us, for teaching us, for always being so forgiving. You showed us all your unconditional love. We will forever be grateful and always remember you this way. As your children, we admire your strength to persevere, your willingness and determination to stand up to cancer, facing some of your biggest fears. Your amazing courage was on display daily as you got up and went about the day, some days better than others, you still tried and did so with a smile, on most days. Please watch over us always, as if you were still here on Earth, we love you Mom. "All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my Mother"
