Obituary

Alfred R. "Bud" Sites, Jr.

May 31, 1954 – March 29, 2024

Alfred R. "Bud" Sites, Jr.  passed away on March 29, 2024, at the age of 69.  He was born on May 31, 1954, to Alfred and Doris Sites.  On September 30,1972, Bud married his high school sweetheart, Marikay (nee Rementer).

Bud's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him immense joy.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley Davidson and fishing for hours on end with his lifelong friend, Alan Pew.  He was a cross country truck driver for most of his life and loved being on the open road.

He lived a full life and shared his experiences through the stories he would share with family and friends. He competed in barrel racing at Cowtown and held the fastest time for many years.  He boxed a kangaroo, changed a tire while being pursued by the police, had to be rescued by the coast guard when the boat he and Al were on broke down and they realized the strip of land they were on would be submersed in water at high tide.

Bud was pre-deceased by his parents, Bud and Doris, father-in-law Norman Rementer, sister Darlene Philbin, and brother-in-law Charles (Russie) Rementer.

He is survived and missed by his loving wife of fifty-one years Marikay; his children Bud (Sharon), Veronica (Keith Hellyer), and Alan (Amber); his grandchildren, Bud, Michael, Brittany, Keith, Kaiden, Alan Jr., Aaron, Ashton, great grandchildren, Charles, Hazel, Damain; his mother-in-law Cathleen Rementer; his sister Teresa Thompson and many nieces and nephews.

Bud Sites will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.  His legacy will live on through his family and in the hearts of those who knew him.
